What is Holiday Club?

Holiday Club is a sports-based childcare provider for children aged 6 to 12 years. With an extensive range of sports facilities, each day includes fun and exciting activities designed to keep children active. Activities may include football, tennis, arts, and games.

The childcare service gives parents reassurance that children are supervised in a safe and friendly environment by sports centre staff and coaches.

Staff, Leaders and Volunteers

Camps are generally run by sports centre staff, school support staff, and, when available, school PE staff. Students studying sports-related subjects may also volunteer on sports camps to gain experience and develop their skills.

Staff have DBS checks and receive training and regular updates in child protection and first aid.

Facilities

Additional Information

Each day is organised carefully by the manager into short activity sessions. Registration starts at 9:00am and children are collected at 3:30pm. Children are supervised throughout the day by their group leader, and registers are taken in the morning and afternoon.

Lunch is usually at 12:30pm, although this may vary depending on the day’s activities. The first break is generally between 10:30am and 11:00am.

A suitable film may be shown during break and lunch while staff prepare afternoon activities. Films shown are normally rated U.

Making a Booking

Holiday Camp places are arranged through the centre’s booking service. Contact the centre to confirm the current booking process, available dates, prices, and any required forms.

Payment

The archived page stated that cash and cheques were not accepted. Contact the centre before booking to confirm its current payment methods.

Families using a childcare voucher scheme may need to provide proof of payment when dropping off their child. Confirm the current requirements with the centre.

Booking Conditions

The centre reserves the right to exclude any child whose behaviour is not compatible with the ethos of the camp.

Places should only be booked when the child is expected to attend. Failure to attend may affect access to future camp bookings.

Cancellation Charge

The archived page stated that cancellations made up to three working days before attendance were not charged. Current cancellation, transfer, and refund conditions should be confirmed directly before booking.

What to Bring on the Day

Children should bring a packed lunch, water bottle, trainers, and suitable leisure wear. Coats and thermal clothing may be needed during colder months.

During summer, children should also bring sunscreen and a hat when required.

Children may bring a change of footwear for blades or rubber-studded football boots. Metal-studded boots should not be brought because they can damage the artificial turf.

Tablets and mobile phones should not be brought to the camp. The centre cannot accept responsibility for unsecured lost or stolen items.
